the minerva foundation of berkeley
The Minerva Foundation of Berkeley, California, with which the Institute of Neuroesthetics is associated, is pleased to announce a new initiative. Following the purchase of apartments in Berkeley, we are able to offer scholars who wish to work in the Bay Area of San Francisco free accommodation for periods of between 3 to 6 months. Scholars in neurobiology, including neuroesthetics, may use this facility to pursue their work in any way that advances their productivity. They need not be affiliated to a laboratory or university department in the Bay Area and may instead use the facility to pursue their writing or library research, or to interact with others in the Bay Area. The apartments will have free internet access.
In general, preference will be given to postdoctoral fellows. Brief stays of less than two weeks will not be considered. The facility will be available for 3 months in the first instance, renewable for a further period of 3 months where necessary (6 months maximum).
If interested, please send your CV to Professor S. Zeki, University College London (email:s.zeki@neuroesthetics.org) and give a brief description (maximum two pages) of the work you intend to do while in Berkeley. Please include the names of two referees who know you well. Where necessary, we may ask to conduct an interview with you, which can be done through video conferencing.
The facility is open to scholars from all countries of the world, and there are no deadlines for applying.
